Couettes, oreillers et couettes bébé : en machine à 30 °C, programme laine, avec une lessive pour laine. Pas de sèche-linge : séchez à plat, à l’air libre. Surmatelas : pas en machine, nettoyage à sec. Aérez régulièrement entre les lavages.
Good news: wool is one of the easiest materials to care for. It naturally repels dust, odours and moisture. In most cases, regular airing is all it needs. Minimal care for maximum lifespan: that is one of the big advantages of natural bedding.
To keep your wool pillow in perfect condition:
- Air it regularly, ideally outdoors or near an open window.
- Separate the wool clusters by hand from time to time to maintain its loft.
- If it gets stained, spot-clean with a damp cloth and a little mild detergent.
- Full wash if needed: 30 °C, delicate cycle, dry flat in the open air.
A wool duvet asks for very little, but likes to be well looked after:
- Air it every morning: a few minutes is enough to release the moisture from the night.
- Store it loosely bundled in a breathable cotton or linen bag (no plastic bags).
- Machine washing: only for models certified as washable, wool programme, 30 °C, gentle spin.
- Dry flat, in the open air. Avoid high-temperature tumble drying.
