A local and ethical Belgian project

At Lanado, we are proud to revalue the wool of our regions and to highlight the unique know-how of our local companies. This project was born from a common desire: to support Belgian breeders and preserve the wool industry of our country in the face of current economic challenges.

In a context where Asian competition imposes low prices, where production costs continue to rise and where the Belgian textile industry suffers, we have chosen to react. We refuse to see sheep disappear from our meadows and to continue to consume textiles derived from oil, such as polyester.

A collective project

We have chosen to unite and collaborate to revive a local and authentic product

  • Our Belgian breeders take care of their herds to guarantee the best quality wool. Every year, we participate in the shearing and harvesting of these wools directly from the breeders.
  • A wool merchant from Verviers, with his wealth of expertise, selects and sorts the most suitable fibres for the manufacture of our high-end duvets. Each wool is carefully chosen to ensure lightness, loft and comfort.
  • The wool processing is entrusted to a washhouse in Verviers, world-renowned for the quality of its work. Thanks to this process, we guarantee pure, clean wool, ready to be transformed into an exceptional product. Some of our duvets benefit from an innovative treatment that makes the wool machine washable (30°C - wool program) and anti-mite. An evolution perfectly adapted to modern needs, while remaining 100% Belgian and high-end.
  • Finally, the production of our products is ensured by a local partner whose technology and know-how are in perfect harmony with our quality requirements.
Comfort, health and practicality

wool adapts to your needs

Wool is no longer just a noble and natural material, it is also incredibly practical! Thanks to an anti-felting (anti-shrinkage) treatment, our wool duvets and pillows can be machine washed at 30°C with a specific program for wool. This 100% Belgian process guarantees a stable and homogeneous fiber, while preserving its natural qualities.

Anti-felting treatment

preserve the wool in all its

This innovative treatment protects natural fibres such as sheep's wool, cashmere or camel hair from the effects of shrinkage. By preventing the fibres from felting - the latter tend to cling to each other when exposed to water and friction - we offer you products that retain their shape and softness, wash after wash. The anti-felting process, by gentle oxidation (chlorine), smoothes the fibres while preserving the very nature of the wool. This treatment is carried out in compliance with Belgian and European environmental regulations, guaranteeing a reduced ecological footprint.
