Wool is a natural treasure from our pastures. Warm in winter and light in summer, it offers incomparable comfort and adapts naturally to temperature variations. Much more sophisticated than any artificial fiber, it is healthy, breathable and ecological.
Wool, a naturally efficient insulator
When you look at a wool fibre under a microscope, you will see a surface made up of small, superimposed scales that provide unique insulation and comfort. A true temperature regulator, wool retains heat when it is cold and releases moisture when it is hot. This is why it is suitable for both winter duvets and light summer duvets.
Sheep in all climates
From high mountains to deserts, sheep thrive in extreme environments thanks to their fleece. This adaptability is reflected in wool, which acts as a natural thermoregulator, maintaining optimal comfort throughout the night. By absorbing moisture and regulating perspiration, wool helps prevent thermal shock and ensures an ideal temperature.
Studies by the Polytechnic Institute of Wales show that people sleeping with wool duvets have lower heart rates and benefit from more favourable microclimatic conditions next to the skin, compared to people using synthetic duvets.
A naturally responsible product
All it takes is sheep, sun, water and grass to create an exceptional natural fibre. Wool is renewable, sustainable and biodegradable, with a very small ecological footprint. At Lanado, we are committed to using wool from our Belgian pastures.
